Red Necked Wallaby
Origin: Australia and New Guinea.

Latin Name: Macropus rufogriseus

Habitat: Heavily timbered or rugged areas

Diet: Grass, hay, fruits and vegetables

Lifespan: Up to 20 years

Average Size: Weight:15 Kg., Length: 90 cm. Height:80cm

Characteristics:

Wallabies are small or mid-sized marsupial belonging to the kangaroo family.  They have powerful hind legs and a strong tail mostly used for balance and support.  The female wallaby has a pouch on her tummy in which to raise her young.  She gives birth to a single baby known as a joey, whereby it crawls up into its mother’s pouch.
